Khao Sok River by Raft

Step back in time and experience the tranquil beauty of the Khao Sok River aboard a traditional bamboo raft – one of Thailand’s oldest forms of transport. The river, once a vital trade route linking the Andaman Sea with the Gulf of Thailand, offers a serene journey through lush jungle landscapes.
As you gently float along the river, take in the picturesque surroundings and keep your eyes peeled for exotic wildlife. Along the way, enjoy a short hike through the jungle and a rubber tree plantation, where you’ll discover a cave and learn how to boil water in bamboo stems over an open fire. You’ll also get the chance to brew tea or coffee, just as travelers did on the ancient trade routes.
Each raft accommodates two people, with a local guide who will punt the raft using a long pole. The guides are skilled fishermen who have spent their lives on the river, making the experience truly authentic. As the journey concludes, try your hand at punting the raft – it’s trickier than it looks!
