Ethical Elephant Experience

At Khao Sok Elephant Conservation Center
For centuries, elephants have held a significant place in Thai culture. Once used in forestry, where they would drag logs, these majestic animals now face a troubling reality—many elephant camps offer rides that harm the elephants, causing physical injuries with the use of painful chairs and keeping them in poor conditions.
At Anurak Community Lodge, we stand firm against animal cruelty. We do not support or engage with elephant camps that offer elephant rides in such unethical conditions. Instead, our Elephant Experience offers a chance to interact with these gentle giants in a more humane and ethical way.
During this immersive experience, you will join the mahouts (elephant handlers) in caring for the elephants by feeding them their favorite snacks, giving them a refreshing bath in the river, and taking a leisurely stroll through the palm tree plantations before returning them to their paddock for another fruit snack. It’s an unforgettable way to connect with these majestic creatures while supporting their welfare.
